Trump Just Accused Democrats Of Something His Own Campaign Chairman Got Charged For!

In his latest unhinged Twitter rant, Trump once again attempted to divert attention away from the special counselor’s investigation into his administration’s possible collusion with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. In doing so, he accused democrats of committing a crime that his own former campaign chairman was charged with only days ago.

On Monday, former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was charged with money laundering after wiring more than $18 million from offshore accounts to spend in the United States. He reportedly spent millions on several properties, home improvement, art, clothing, cars, and investments.

Robert Mueller’s indictment of the former Trump campaign official was unsealed Monday in a probe that is rapidly circling the White House.

Trump, for his part, attempted to frame the Democratic National Committee (DNC) as having “illegally [stolen] the Primary from Bernie Sanders.” However, Donna Brazile, whose words Trump was invoking, never charged the DNC with any illegal activity. In fact, she explicitly stated that the DNC’s action were not illegal, although she did concede that they were unethical.

“The agreement was unfair to Sanders, she said, as campaigns should not be integrated with the party’s finances until they are the official nominee,” according to The Hill.

Of course, Trump doesn’t have much ground to stand on when it comes to castigating unethical behavior.

While Trump will continue to shamelessly lie to the American people, he will not divert any eyes from the actual scandal in Washington, D.C..
